The early days of Aloha shirts, from its development in the 1930s to just before the beginning of Aloha Friday in the 1960s, saw apparel that was more like wearable art.

We are located in Hawaii and only deal with original vintage Hawaiian clothing - we do not sell reproductions like many other shops.

This Aloha staple first emerged in Honolulu in the 1920s, made from Japanese Yukuta cloth.

The shirt has a pointed loop collar, five button down front.

What started as a local sensation became a widespread phenomenon in the late 40s and 50s as soldiers returned from abroad with these vibrantly printed souvenirs, often bearing the now-iconic label of Alfred Shaheen.
